Land reclamation and lagoons bordered by the imposing Po express artistic and culinary treasures that you must to be experienced
Ferrara is permeated by a fascinating Renaissance architecture that brings together the imposing buildings of the historic center and the imposing castles and residences located throughout its province. Land dominated by the powerful Estensi family, between land and water, between city and countryside, between civilization and nature. Precious ingredients, opposites that complement each other, are yin and yang of a territory, harmony and fullness for those who explore it. The Estensi, natives of Modena, to their testimony two existing Pantheon, elect Ferrara as capital and today it is registered in the Unesco Heritage. But Ferrara earns the nickname of the 'city of bicycles', because it lets you pedal meekly in every corner, from the splendid walls that largely surround it to the streets and squares of the historic center up to the countryside that surrounds it. A campaign in which land and water meet and chase each other in a landscape that is lost in sight. The province has its main road in the Destra Po which accompanies the great river to the embrace with the Adriatic along the great river, but widens inland in the lands of the reclamation, passing through the 'out of town' villas intended for recreation and to the entertainment of the Estensi and their court (they called them Delizie, and never ended was more appropriate) who made here excellent foods such as the very rare Salama da Sugo. In short, a territory rich in precious pearls, that of Ferrara and its province, signs of the path of a civilization that has expressed itself over time, in opposites, with the treasures of the Este court and the elegance of Renaissance architecture and with a landscape unique, patiently shaped by the work of man who leaves room for the natural wonders of that oasis of wilderness, clearings of land and fishing valleys of the Po Delta and Comacchio Park.
